If you’ve been served with a mortgage foreclosure lawsuit the worst thing you can do is stick your head in the sand and pretend it will just “go away.” Since this process could result in the loss of your home, you should take action immediately if you wish to keep your home.
You have just 28 days to file answers to the numbered complaints listed in the summons. If you do not answer, a default judgment may be rendered against you, which may result in the court ordering the sale of your property.
According to the office of Ron Nabakowski, Lorain County Clerk of Court of Common Pleas you should seek legal advice from an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, you should contact Ohio’s official “Save the Dream” program at (888) 404-4674 (toll free).
Lorain County is also served by many non-profit, HUD approved housing counselors. They have a special expertise in working with lenders and loan servicers. If you’ve been served with a mortgage foreclosure lawsuit, valuable help is available … for FREE! Contact one of these counselors at the numbers listed below.
